Gilberte has, for the past fifteen years, focused on the design and implementation of user experiences for
a variety of industries and applications. After being trained as a software engineer she discovered the world
of graphical interfaces and realized that computers are built to be used by people. Since then, her primary
focus has been to explore and understand how technology affects our lives, how people react to technology and
the critical role that design plays in optimizing and monetizing related applications. Throughout her career
Gilberte has published numerous articles about science and technology. She combined her interest in media and
technology at the MIT Media Lab. Her core work at the Media Lab was sponsored by the News in the Future
Consortium and focused on the creation of personal interactive newscasts. Her work also inspired the product
designs for ChannelVision, the first of a number of startups Gilberte joined.
Gilberte's subsequent work covers
a broad range of high-tech media products: voice applications at NUANCE (
www.nuance.com), video-on-demand for
Verizon's FIOS broadband cable service,
Adaptive Phone Authentication for banking at RSA Security,
Voice Activated VoIP at MOBIVOX (
www.mobivox.com),
pre-paid card services at Aliaswire (
www.aliaswire.com),
and internet video applications at Zixi (
www.zixi.com)
Gilberte has used her three languages, English, French and Spanish in the design and localization of various
applications. Gilberte holds an MS in Media Arts and Sciences from MIT, an MS in Computer Science and Information
Systems and an Undergraduate Degree in Math applied to Economics with minor in Computer Science from Université
Dauphine. Check out her
