Jose has over 30 years experience sourcing, building and managing manufacturing operations for high-growth companies
in both technology and consumer products markets. His experience spans product engineering, manufacturing engineering,
fab management and operations of IC manufacturing in ISO 9000 organizations. He has directed production control,
production process development, quality systems, purchasing and shipping/receiving activities. He is also a skilled
negotiator having negotiated multi-million dollar contracts with contract manufacturers and component providers worldwide.
As a co-founder and VP of Operations at Sound Vision, Inc. (Fabless Semiconductor Company), Jose built the Manufacturing Department and directed all offshore purchasing, primarily in the Far East. His activities included implementing and maintaining JIT systems in order to increase inventory turns, reduce total cost of goods and manage global suppliers of OEM and raw materials.
As VP of Manufacturing of Leaf Systems (Digital Imaging Manufacturer), Jose restructured the manufacturing organization resulting in a 25% reduction in manpower while supporting increased revenues. In addition he coordinated the transfer of Manufacturing Operations to Israel, consolidated the organization with an affiliated company, including consolidation and rationalization of all MIS and financial functions. His restructuring of the Purchasing Department resulted in a 20% reduction in manpower, a 27% reduction in inventory levels and a 16% reduction in floor shorts. As Director of Manufacturing at Analogic/CDA, Jose was responsible for multiple manufacturing sites and directly managed the 40 person test and assembly department. In this role he was responsible for creating and meeting departmental budgets, capacity planning, production scheduling and material expediting. In addition Jose developed training programs for Test Technicians.
Prior to Analogic, Jose held senior manufacturing positions at Picker International and American Optical. Jose received his BA Degree in Business from Newbury College and he is fluent in English and Portuguese.
